Our SRU floor hanger system is excellent for reducing impact and airborne noise, when wanting to retain original floor boards with only 7mm of floor height raise through out. The SRU floor hanger consist of a metal wing channel with a 5mm isolation tape attached to it.

We will remove all the floor boards to gain access to the existing joists. Some of the floor boards may need cutting. We will then insert a layer of 100mm RS60 Rock-wool between the joists which will be the first barrier for airborne noise. Our SRU Floor hanger will then be laid over all joists and the 5mm isolation barrier will sit on top of the joists, thus isolating the structure from the floor. We will then fit a 19mm sound plank between the hangers and this will be sealed with an acoustic sealant.

The floor boards will then be laid back over the SRU Floor hanger and screwed into the wings of the hanger and not into the joists, thus creating a floating floor and improving on impact noise.
