The Resilient Bar Wall System is the ideal solution to utilise when you have a restriction on the amount of space you can use in the room, as the original face is removed to expose the studwork beneath. This solution improves on both impact and airborne noise being transmitted between two properties, serving as an exceptional method of sound insulation, soundproofing as well as aiding acoustic performance and even granting some improvement to thermal insulation.
Crafted as a soundproofing solution that makes ample use of stud work, plasterboard and an innovative alternative to sealant, the Resilient Bar Wall System serves as a solution for soundproofing walls that consists of a sound breaker bar, 100/50mm RS60 Rockwool (dependent on the current structure), 19mm sound plank and a 12.5mm sound shield acoustic plasterboard. Also utilised within ceiling systems as well as soundproofing walls, the Resilient Bar Wall System is a cost-effective means of ensuring that airborne sound is aptly dealt with, yet doesn’t hamper overall acoustic performance.
Whether you’re seeking superb soundproofing for walls, aiming to improve acoustic performance or looking to maximise the sound insulation of a room, the Resilient Bar Wall System could be the perfect solution for you.
The DB Board is a high-density sand filled board, the likes of which can greatly aid when soundproofing walls as it helps to reduce airborne noise through walls. These boards are 15mm thick, offer greater sound insulation than the likes of plasterboard or drywall, and have a corrugated sand filled carcass. The DB board has both soundproofing and thermal properties (on timber or steel framed structures).
This a 2.5mm thick rubber sheet adding 5kg per square meter. The membrane is made from recycled materials and works as an excellent barrier to airborne noise, aiding both soundproofing for walls and sound insulation in general. When combined with the sound insulating properties of the acoustic plasterboard, MLV50 can yield exceptional sound insulation results.
Green Glue is a specialised alternative to a sealant that’s layered between the two layers of plasterboard. The science behind green glue is that when soundwaves hit the glue, it disperses these vibrations into smaller vibrations within the boards. These then shear along the two sides of the boards, causing friction and the glue to changes these vibrations into heat. The heat dissipates, which reduces the vibration. This conversion of energy from sound vibration to heat is called damping and this is what lays at the core of this product
